Personal Injury Lawyers! Can These Kits Help You Get More Clients?
If you do Personal Injury Law, can an in-car emergency kit work to help you get more business? This is a new concept for me, but yes, I think it could work very well. The whole concept of marketing is finding ways to reach clients that give them something unique. Give them something of value that people will remember.
Will it work?
An emergency kit that fits in the glove box of a car is a pretty good idea. It is compact, easy to fill, and you have room to add your marketing material. These are all good things.
Glove Box
However, if someone is injured in an accident and the injury is to the back, neck, or anything other than soft tissue, they may not be able to reach into the glove box. Since the personal injury emergency kit is not something people will be looking for, those who stop to help probably will not go to his glove box to look for it.
Visor
This sounds like a much better option. A kit that has the basics. The cover could have your information on it as well as the basic emergency instructions. Call 911, exchange insurance information, take photos, do not say anything, wait for the police to arrive, call your personal injury attorney as soon as you are physically able. The inside could have a cloth-like towelette to apply pressure against a wound. A few first aid items, a pencil and a small note pad.
Vent
I like the idea of having a vent type. The first thing you are going to do when you have an accident is reach for your phone. When you grab your phone, it is right there. The only problem I see is the size. Some people may not want to block their vent due to their air conditioning, heat, or even an air freshener.
Research
Do your research. Just because you have never heard of it or because I have never heard of it, does not mean someone else has never tried it. Get on the computer and see if you can find them or something close that someone else has used. Get an idea of how he put them together. You can get a lot of info from his website and reviews. You may get inspired or you might want to may see things differently.
Economics
You will have to research the economics of the kits. Are you going to put business cards inside? Are you going to have the screen printed? Are you going to mail these out? How much will it cost to ship them? Even the greatest ideas have to work financially. If you can make them work then you have a great idea and it is worth a try. You might want to try it on a small scale or you may get a better discount if you buy in bulk. If it does not work out, can you use them as part of sales packages in the future? Look at it from every angle.
Answer these questions and go with your gut. Or as we say in marketing, throw it against the wall and see if it sticks.
Can Having an App Help Market Your Law Firm?
Having an app for businesses is so common these days, everyone seems to be doing it. Many lawyers have wondered if they should have an app for their law office. I have given this a lot of thought. If there is a tool we can use to build our client’s business, we sure don’t want to miss it. We have looked at this every way we can and we just don’t see how this can be a service that a law firm can utilize.
Let’s say you are a personal injury attorney. You offer an app. How many people do you think will download your app in the hopes that they will have an automobile accident, or will slip and fall at work? But, let’s say they actually do download the app. What can the app do for them? It can provide them with the information on the attorney such as an address, phone number, and email address. It can pop up a screen for them to upload photos. So, it will give them a digital business card and a few common suggestions.
What Apps Do You Use?
The problem with most apps is that people forget to use them. Look at your phone. How many apps do you have on your phone that you never even use?
There was a firm out of Tampa that advertised its app. They advertised it on the radio. It was something like “Weather and News brought to you by…” I believe it was Catania and Catania. I have not heard of them in a while. I doubt the app worked out well for them.
While I have never heard of an app that has worked out for a law firm, upon further consideration I think it could be a possibility in some cases. The two below are examples of law firms that may be able to pull together an app that would work.
Addition to post
- Immigration Attorney App
There may be a couple of exceptions to attorneys that could benefit from specially designed apps. One would be an immigration attorney. This will help clients gather the documents they need to gather and make communication easier. Specific dates may come up and remind clients of up-coming requirements, appointments, and documents that have not been received.
- Bankruptcy Attorney App
When a business has to file for bankruptcy, there are a lot of things that have to be prepared and submitted to the courts. This is a long process and it requires certain reports and records at particular times. A bankruptcy app can help a client stay on track making his things less stressful. Bankers, auditors, attornies, suppliers, and will have merchandise and property owners will be involved in the process. Handwritten notes are not much help when it comes to the liquidation of a company.

How To Find an Excellent Graphic Designer For Your Law Firm
We live in the digital age and the internet is full of pre-made, cookie-cutter designs. But, no law firm wants a standard, nicely done website. People want a first-rate attorney, and an awesome website is the first step in assuring them that they are in the right place. A key component in creating an awesome website is hiring an excellent graphic designer.
Finding a great graphic designer
There are a few places where we routinely find great graphic designers. One of those places is Fiverr.com. We have several graphic designers that we use on Fiverr but one of the best places that we get our graphic designers is from Upwork.
Upwork
You go to Upwork.com, create an account, and begin your search for a graphic designer. There are a lot of freelance graphic designers on the site and you can browse their portfolios and other materials, depending on the project you need to be completed and whether it is a short-term project or a long-term project.
The steps I take
As I said, I usually use Fiverr, and these are the steps I take.
- I look to Fiverr and browse for someone who does good work. I am sure to check out their samples to get a good idea of their style. It is not a problem finding someone that can do good work.
- I give them very good examples of the kind of work I am looking for.
- Go to Google and search for the things you are looking for. If I am looking for a website banner, I find a website banner that is very similar to the banner I want. I match the elements or provide the elements from a different photo. The thing is, I make it clear.
- Go to different lawyers’ sites and point out the things you like and point out the things you do not like.
The two reasons people fail to like Fiverr and Upwork
There are people who do not like Fiverr and Upwork. If you study the reviews it always comes down to one of two reasons.
1. They hire someone they cannot communicate with.
Talk to them before you hire them. Ask them questions they cannot Google. Ask them about their family. Ask them what they do for fun and how long they have been doing this kind of work. Make sure you can communicate with them.
How many times has someone sent you a text or an email that sounded a bit rude? It may have put you off a little. But when you talked to them on the phone or in person, you realized they had a crazy sense of humor and spoken in the right tone that text was very funny! Communication is everything.
2. They are not clear with their instructions.
This is a problem in every industry. It is especially true when you are dealing with a graphic designer. If you tell a graphic designer, “I want a website banner and it needs to be blue.” there is a good chance, you are not going to be happy with the results. Give them something to work with. There are dozens of colors of blue. What color is the font to be? What font do you want? The questions go on and on. If you do not give enough information, you are asking the graphic designer to read your mind and that is not going to give you the results you expect.
The final question.
The last question you will need to ask is does your company offer services? If they answer, “Yes, my company does offer these services, but we only do it for clients that are full clients for us. If you just need a website banner or just need graphic design for a project, we are not the company for you.” There’s your answer.
The good thing is, if you were working through Fiverr or Upwork, you probably have a couple of more graphic designers already chosen. That is the beauty of working through such a large selection.
